MiScreen a4 has no function of scanninng, so it is unable to make a screen directly by handwritten artwork on a paper.
In order to make a screen using by handwritten artwork, it is needed to convert it into a digital data (PDF, JPEG, BMP and PNG) to use it on the dedicate application software.

PDF, JPEG, BMP and PNG file formats are available to use.
The actual image size of the artwork should be edited with the condition of 203 dpi resolution.

If Illustrator data is saved as PDF format, it is compatible to use.
Although Illustrator data saved as AI format is not guaranteed, it might be possible to open it on the dedicated application software.

If the PDF data is larger than A4 size, it will be shrunk and fit into maximum size which is able to print by the dedication apprication software.

It is possible to print multi color although the registration between colors are not perfect.
Also because of basic system of screen printing, images of each color have to be separeted.
Regarding CMYK full-color printing, we don’t recommend because the registration is not perfect and halftone image processing is not equipped on the dedicated application software.

Although it depends on the artwork, the material and how the screen master condition is kept during the print, we would say you would be able to print about 100 impressions if all the condition is good.
Tips for long lasting are to stretch the screen master firmly.
If you want to print more than that, we recommend to re-stretch the screen master onto the “Flat Metal Frame 30×43; MSA4”.

In the case of using RISOAQUA ink, as the screen master is almost not affected by ingreadient of ink.
However, 2 cases makes screen master unable.

One point is clogging the screen master when you use water based ink and the other point is screen tension kept during the printing.

In order to prevent the screen master clogging, it is necessary to wipe the screen master with a wet cloth moderately.
When you are wiping the screen master, it is important keep the condition of the film lamination, using smooth cloth surface and wet wiping should be as gentle as possible to minimum stress because the RISO screen master is thin film laminated on the screen.

The other point is the screen master tension keep stretching tightly.
The supplied plastic frame serves both screen master making and printing, but it is not suitable for rathar larger volume print.
When printing a larger volume, using Metal frame is suitable.

If the screen master is maintained in good condition with proper wiping and good tension with Metal Frame, it will be possible to print more than 100 impressions.

It is possible. Please mind not wash with Paper Frame.

It is possible to reuse the screen master used if it is cleaned.
After cleaning, it is possible to storage the screen master both with and without the frame.

Wash the both side of screen master by deeply wet wipe.
However it is impossible to remove the ink completely after washing because of the structure of the screen master itself.
Althougth the ink color remains on the screen master, it won’t affect reusing.

①In the case of peeling off the screen master from double-sided tape.
It should be stretched and stuck it again.
In order to make it last longer you can reinforce it by masking tape etc.
②In the case of the frame is broken.
It should be reinforced the frame by something else.
If it is impossible to recover, please remake a screen again.

Yes. Only 120 mesh screen master is available for MiScreen a4.

Other than the RISO DIGITAL SCREEN MASTER MiScreen a4 cannot be gurantee on the MiScreen a4, in terms of the quality and failure the product.
Using another type of screen master will not be coverd by product warranty.

The element of the screen master for both MiScreen a4 and GOCCOPRO100 is the same, however RISO DIGITAL SCREEN MASTER MiScreen a4 is manufactured to suit to work on MiScreen a4 unit.

We recommend to use water based ink or plastisol ink.
However some types of screen printing ink such as solvent type ink, plastisol ink and UV type ink can be used with the RISO screen master, but the screen tension is loose on MiScreen a4 system, those types of ink is not suitable to use. When you try to use various types of screen ink other than water based ink or plastisol ink, you will have to try to use with your own risk.

Usually it is possible to mix with the same type of inks.
Please get an advice from the ink supplier.

Usutally yes, it can if the ink remained is still usable.
However if the ink is too dried and become solid, it shouldn’t be returned.

RISOAQUA ink is usually suitable for fabrics made of 100% cotton and 50% or more cotten blended fabrics. It is also possible on a wood and a paper without any coatings on the printnig surface.

RISOAQUA ink is usually suitable for T-shirts fabrics made of 100% cotton and 50% or more cotten blended fabrics. After printing, dry the ink, iron it for about 1 minute at 150℃ and then it will be washable.

The suitable ink for printing is usually depending on the materials (substrates) you want to print. To ask the ink supplier to get some advice is the best way. Then you should check if the ink is suit to use with the RISO screen master.

For screen making process on the MiScreen a4, please use our genuine frame.
Otherwise the image quality may be lost or it may be a cause of any trouble.
After the screen making is done, you can use other type of frame to stretch or use self-made frame for the printing process.
We also provide the metal type of frame which can stretch screen firmly and will be hold and keep good tension during the print.

We recommend to replace the double-sided tape to stick the screen master well on the frame.
To make easiler to replace the double-sided tape, we give a tip to stick scotch tape first on the frame as a base and put the double-sided tape over the scotch tape.
When you replace the double-sided tape on the frame, just peel off the double-sided tape and leave the scotch tape, then stick the fresh double-sided tape over the scotch tape again.

For the MiScreen a4 Plastic frame, yes, it is possible to wash it out with the water. To clean the ink stain, you can clean it either with watter or cleaning alcohol.
For the MiScreen a4 Card stock paper frame, no, it is not possible to wash out with water. Just clean it with the wet wipe either with water wet or slight alcohol wet.

Due to the basic technique of the screen printing, you have to make the screen for each color so that you have to prepare the separated images for each color.
If you can set the printing material on the Printing Board in the start-up kit and print on it, the frames you made have the possitioning holes to fit with the possining pins sticking on the Printing Board. If you fit the possitioning pins and holes, the print registration will be good enough to print the multi-color print. However in the case of those possitioning pins and holes don’t fit, put the registration marks with the image created on the screen, adjust registration marks to match each color when it is being printed, then it would be possible to do the multi-color printing.

Basically it is possible to print on the uncoated paper if the suitable screen ink is used.
Although it is printable on the paper, the small font characters may be swelled and/or blurred by printing with squeegee stroke due to the image resolution of 203dpi and hand-stretching loose screen tension on the frame.
It will be depended on the font character, paper materials, how to use the squeegee and kind of inks etc.

There may be smudges on the thermal head. Please do the thermal head cleaning by referring the operator manual on page 38.
Then please make another screen with a fresh screen master.

When the water-based ink is used for the printing and poor or blurred image is appearing, the most of the cases due to image holes clogging.
It is likely occurred under following conditions.
・Fine line image part
・Too long interval time after resting
・Continuous air blowing from the air condition
・Using white ink. (Usually white ink is faster to get dry rather than other color inks.)

To prevent clogging
・Keep the screen wiped with wet cloth time to time. Wipe the screen from the film side of the screen
・Wet wipe the screen well every interval of the print
・Keep the screen rested in the place with moisturizer.

Please mind the balance of hand grip on the squeegee should be hold evenly.
If the image density is uneven between right and left side, shift the hand grip posittion toward the both end of the squeegee grip position. If the image density on the center is poor, shit the hand grip position to the center.

Please firm the printing substrates on the table or thick flat board with the substrates sticking on it.
Then place the screen master with the frame over it, keep the frame with the positionning guide somehow on the table, then print with squeegee holding the frame not to move while squeegeeing.

Before it dries, washing by rubbing it with detergent and running water. Once the ink dries, it will be difficult to remove. Please check instructions with the ink supplier.
